FUN FACT !!!

Do you know where the radio message "Mayday" comes from?

The expression is final, due to a misunderstanding between a French pilot and an English radio operator!

The pilot reported "m'aidez" to the radio operator, which means "help me"! The radio operator understood that due to the similar sounding wording, MAYDAY!

Frederic Stanley Mockforf (at that time Chief Radio Officer at London-Croydon Airport) took over this radio message in 1923 as a help emergency call!
